PressureMAP Capabilities

The information below describes several of the important capabilities of the current version of PressureMAP. Because it provides details on specific program functionality, it is most useful for existing and/or experienced PressureMAP users. If you are unfamiliar with PressureMAP, please refer first to the PressureMAP Datasheet and Benefits summary.

Note: For a more complete list of PressureMAP capabilities and enhancements, check out this datasheet.

AlarmMAP-Specific Functionality:

  • Alarm Distribution Improvements
Beginning in PressureMAP Version 26, alarm processing and distribution has been significantly improved. In earlier versions of the software, alarms were distributed to designated alarm centers one alarm at a time, one center at a time in a sequential, serial manner. The alarm would have to be either manually or automatically acknowledged at one of the centers before AlarmMAP could process any additional alarms that needed to be distributed during the established calling time. In Version 26 the sendalarm utility was modified to distribute alarms to multiple centers simultaneously. Alarm acknowledgment has also been refined by converting the Auto Acknowledge and User Acknowledge modes to the more efficient Summary Mode.
  • Test Alarm Comments
A Test Alarm capability was added to AlarmMAP in Version 25 to help users confirm that a newly created Alarm Center had been set up properly to receive alarms. A modification to the Test Alarm format in Version 26 now enables you to enter a 20 character or less comment that will display in the Condition column of the test alarm. The comment section is ideal for specifying that the alarm recipient call the person who generated the alarm, for example, to confirm that the test alarm has been received.
  • Improved Priority Device ($) Alarming
Priority device alarming has been improved in Version 26 for $F, $P, and $A device types. They are now distributed every two hours until they clear.
  • Midnight Alarming Improvements
PressureMAP's midnight device readings shift mechanism has been modified so that readings are not settled just because a day change has occurred. The new requirement for a current reading dated yesterday is that it be at least two hours old in order to be shifted. This will give PressureMAP's findalarm function a chance to generate an alarm on the reading before shifting it into the Today column. This enhancement eliminates the possibility that you could miss an alarm that originated at a time close to the midnight shift.
  • Alphanumeric Pager Support
AlarmMAP delivers summary reports to most alphanumeric pagers. Beginning in Version 26 alphanumeric pagers can receive a single, condensed alarm in a pager-friendly format. This capability requires that PressureMAP's One Report alarm threshold be set. Once a threshold number has been set, a Condensed Report will be issued whenever the number of alarms for an office exceeds the threshold number entered.
  • Send Alarms via Network Connection
Entering IP address in Alarm Center information allows MAP Software to send Alarms via installed network connection.
  • Alarms Information on Demand
All users can view acknowledged and unacknowledged alarms at any time.
  • Saturday, Sunday and Holiday Alarm Dispatch Times
Offers separate Saturday and Sunday Alarm Calling Schedules.
  • Device Standards Report
Lists the number and percentage, by transducer type, of devices in a specified office or group of offices that are not to standard on the selected day. Displays total number of devices with valid and verbose (non-valid) readings.
  • Alarm Information on Demand
All users can view acknowledged and unacknowledged alarms at any time.
  • Three Star Alarm Distribution
Three star alarms can be sent to Alarm Centers. This capability operates independently of the filtering options available for four star alarming.
  • Dispatch Alarms to Pagers via the Internet
PressureMAP now enables individuals who have pagers capable of receiving email information via the Internet to receive modified PressureMAP System Alarm, Dispatch Alarm and Cleared Alarm notification (Brief Reports).
  • AlarmMAP Dispatching Schedule
Consistency check for scheduler to make sure all offices have an associated Dispatch Center.
  • High Priority Devices
Allows any device to be designated "high-priority."
  • Alarm Analysis Reports
Ability to view and analyze alarm activity in three new formats: Alarm vs. Time of Day Report, Daily Alarm Summary Report, Alarm vs. Device Type Report, and Alarm Summary Report. In each case, user can specify viewing periods for the generation of report data.
  • Four Star Alarm Reading Confirmation
Confirms all Four Star Alarms before distribution.
  • Four Star Alarm Clearing Message
    Reports cleared Four Star Alarms.
  • Clearing of Spike (Nuisance) Alarms
Compares the current alarm reading to readings from prior days.
  • ONE REPORT Alarm Delivery Mode
Allows for the delivery of a single alarm report when multiple alarms occur in an office and are queued for delivery during the same calling period.
  • Four Star Nuisance Alarm Filtering
Filters out Four Star Alarms that do not require after-hours dispatching.
  • Alarms Based on Ranges
Alarms on flow increases that are proportional to the device range.
  • AlarmMAP CPAMS Catastrophe Filtering
Filters out related alarms and sends only those alarms that are the source of the catastrophe.
  • Ability to Send Test Alarm to Alarm Center
Beginning with Version 25 the AlarmMAP Master Menu includes an option to send a test alarm to a center. This function sends a System test alarm to the selected center regardless of the center's office list or call time.
