PressureMAP Capabilities
The information below describes several of the important capabilities of the current version of PressureMAP. Because it provides details on specific program functionality, it is most useful for existing and/or experienced PressureMAP users. If you are unfamiliar with PressureMAP, please refer first to the PressureMAP Datasheet and Benefits summary.
Note: For a more complete list of PressureMAP capabilities and enhancements, check out this
datasheet.
System Functionality:
- MAP Engine Platform/UNIX Operating System
Beginning with PressureMAP Version 27 the MAP Software is certified to run on a MAP Engine platform using either the SCO UNIX 5.0.7 Operating System or a Linux Operating System (Red Hat Enterprise 4.2 or CentOS 5.2). Systems using SCO UNIX MUST be installed on a MAP Engine VIII or newer System Studies-certified computer. Systems using one of the Linux OS varieties can be installed and run on a customer-selected platform that complies with System Studies' hardware specifications.
- CD Installation
Easier installation of the MAP software from a single CD-ROM instead of disks or tapes.
- Monitoring System Support
PressureMAP has the ability to acquire device readings from the following monitor types: 289H and 289H-M LSS; uM260 Micro Monitors; Dial-a-Ducers; TMACS T-1000 monitors; Nicotra MINIDAS I, MINIDAS II and MINIDAS-2400 monitors; Lancier 101 and 1005 monitors; Telsec 1500 and 2000 monitors; Teleducer 50 monitors; Sparton 5301A, 5310, 5335A, 5345A, 5301B, 5303B, 5304B, 5330B, 5335B, 5345B, and 5318 MMU monitors; Chatlos 600, 640 List 1, 640 List 2-CP1, 640 List 2-CP12, 640 List 2-CP20, 640 List 2-MPUZ, 640 List 3, and Hercules 740 & 940.
- PressureWEB™ Support
Beginning with Version 26, access to key PressureMAP system reports and information is available via the Internet using a standard web browser. PressureWEB provides Device Status by Pipe reports (in a variety of sorting views), specific Device Information, System Quality Indexes (by Office and Pipe), Alarm Condition information, Realtime Readings and Pair Diagnostics (for 289H LSS-monitored offices only). It also provides users with the ability to specify just the specific offices they are interested in accessing in a default My Offices listing.
- Support for Digi PortServer II
Multiport server uses a network connection (rather than a controller board), and offers up to 16 serial portsexpandable to 64 with multiple server modules. Version 21 provides for administration and maintenance of up to 10 units per PressureMAP system, eliminating toll charges to remote installations.
- System Backup Capabilities
Earlier versions of the MAP software automatically backed up the entire MAP database to a magnetic tape. With the release of Version 26 PressureMAP now offers automatic backup capability for a variety of storage media via the BackupEDGE third-party software. Backup capability extended to CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, RAM disk or remote backup source via file transport protocol (ftp).
- Limited Programming of Sparton and Chatlos/Hercules Monitors
PressureMAP can update device data programming for the Sparton 5300B and 5318, Chatlos L3, and Hercules 940 CPAMS monitors. This functionality eliminates the need for duplicate data entry when adding or updating devices.
- Receives Alarms from 289H and 289H-M Monitors
Allows adjustment of alarm thresholds and sensitivity levels.
- Expanded Office Limit
Since the introduction of PressureMAP Version 22, it has been possible to monitor up to 250 offices on one MAP System. The previous maximum was 72 officesone per office extender.
- Expanded Report/Alarm Center Limit
One PressureMAP System can have up to 72 alarm and 72 report centers.
- Decimal or Metric Measurements
Can select either decimal or metric measurement units when the international capability is enabled.
- Export Device History Files
Allows the export of PressureMAP data and information to spreadsheets and databases in the DOS/Windows environment.
- Monitor Power Supply
Monitors UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) for battery voltage.
- Network Administration
Can configure a gateway address for remote LAN access, Network Printing, serial resources and the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) for AlarmMAP.
- Alternate Consoles
Provides eight separate login consoles plus extended system process and status information.
- 289H LSS 9600 Baud Modem Support
Allows 289H alert communications at 9600 baud (requires Rev E Controller Card).
